United Nations Pilgrimage - Arthritis Foundation

Odd Fellows make a pledge "to visit the sick, relieve the distressed, bury the dead and educate the orphan" when they join the Order. The Massachusetts Grand Lodge participates in the following activities as part of this.

Each summer since 1949, Odd Fellows of Massachusetts have sponsored a one week tour of New York City and the United Nations for high school students across our state. These students get a once in a lifetime education of global government in action. Information is available here for the 2002 Pilgrimage.

Arthritis Foundation

Arthritis Foundation Logo An estimated 43 Million people in the United states have at least one form of arthritis. The Odd Fellows and Rebekahs of Massachusetts are actively involved in raising funds for the Arthritis Foundation and have receieved recognition for raising hundreds of dollars through efforts and events each year.

Some of these events include the Arthritis Ball, Arthritis Mini GrandPrix, Orrin J. Eaton Memorial Golf Tournament, and Arthritis Walk-A-Thon. For more information about upcoming events, click here.

Scholarships

The Odd Fellows and Rebekahs of Massachusetts sponsor many scholarships to deserving students of Massachusetts in amounts exceeding $20,000 annually. Each lodge individually coordinates and sponsors the scholarships available.

Nursing Home

Odd Fellows Home in Worcester Odd Fellows Nursing Home of Worcester was established in 1892 and is dedicated to long term and rehabilitative care of our elderly. The Home has been long recognized for excelence in caring for their residents. It is a 100 bed facility that is J.C.A.H.O certified. D.A.R.E. Programs

D.A.R.E. Logo Odd Fellows and Rebekah Lodges are activley supporting many local D.A.R.E. programs throughout Massachusetts. Each lodge supports a program local to them. D.A.R.E is a non-profit program funded through community and corporate donations that uses police officers to teach drug prevention and life management skills to elementary, middle, and high school students.. Beginning with just 10 officers in one school district 16 years ago, D.A.R.E. is now taught to more than 30 million students in the U.S. in more than 300,000 classrooms. That's 80 percent of our nation's school districts. It is taught in all 50 states and in 32 other countries. Approximately 49,000 D.A.R.E. officers are trained to teach the program.
